0 Magnitude 5.2 Quake Hits Maluku

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake rocked the central Maluku island of Buru on Friday, according to Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). There were no immediate reports of injury. The quake hit the island at 12:55 p.m. local time. There was no immediate threat of a tsunami, the BMKG said. The epicenter of the quake was some 10 kilometers beneath the ocean floor of the Banda Sea and soe 191 kilometers southwest of Southern Buru.
