0 Pertamina Jambi to increase Pertamax supply

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina’s Jambi branch plans to increase its Pertamax supply by up to seven fold following the recent issuance of a local regulation that requires official vehicles to use the non-subsidized fuel. Jambi’s Pertamina sales representative Arif Wahyu Perdana said Monday that the Pertamax demand in the province would continue to increase due to the implementation of the regulation.

“I do hope that each filling station (SPBU) in the province can ensure the availability of Pertamax for their consumers,” Arif said. He further said that, “To meet the increase in the demand for the non-subsidized fuel, Pertamina would provide a total 20,000 kiloliters of Pertamax to be distributed to 61 SPBUs in Jambi every year.” Currently, the supply of Pertamax in Jambi can reach up to nearly 545 kiloliters in a 30-day period, while demand over the same timeframe ranged between 360 and 390 kiloliters.

“We will continue to increase the supply of Pertamax along with the increase in demand for the non-subsidized fuel,” Arif said. Not all gas filling stations in Jambi provide Pertamax. “Yet, current Pertamax stocks are available in several filling stations, and are sufficient to cover our consumers’ demand for the non-subsidized fuel,” Arif said.
